Description

The Engineering and Construction Project Management (ECPM) training course is a 3-day intermediate level course covering the principles, processes, tools and techniques of project management in an engineering and construction context.

This course is based on the internationally recognised Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and its Construction Extension published by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) in the USA. It has been adapted to the South African built environment and takes the learner through the 6 stages of a project life cycle from Initiation and Briefing, Concept and Feasibility, Design Development, Tender Documentation and Procurement, Construction Documentation and Management, and finally Project Close-Out.

ProjectPro is dedicated to excellence in project management through high quality consulting services and accredited training solutions according to the standards and global project management best practices of:

  • South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)
  • International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI)

Validated by the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), we have developed the ECPM short course to provide engineers and built environment professionals with a broader understanding of project management, how effective project management can help transform projects, and why it is regarded as such an important discipline in today’s organisations.

Course content is based on PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) 6th Edition, and covers the ten project management knowledge areas of Integration, Scope, Scheduling, Cost, Quality, Communications, Resources, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder Management as well as the five process groups of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing.
